The Youth Programme
Education has always been at the heart of Cape Farewell and the partnership between artists, scientists and educators began on the very first Art/Science Expedition in 2003.
From the first expedition came the creation of a GCSE unit on extreme landscapes for the Geography 21 curriculum; The High Arctic: North to Svalbard and in 2004, on the second expedition Cape Farewell developed the GCSE science resource Life in The Water. These resources were developed alongside a long standing aspiration to take students to experience the Arctic firsthand which was realised in 2007 with the first Cape Farewell youth expedition.

We'd like to develop a space within the youth programme for sharing experiences and a forum for creative ideas, project outlines, resources and lesson plans around climate change. We'd love to hear from you if you are interested, or have done some imaginative cross-curricular work in climate change education in primary or secondary schools.
