Linacre lecture by David Buckland

Join David Buckland on the 21st February as he presents his Linacre lecture 'Good Planets are Hard to Find – a Cultural Response to Climate Change' updating the audience on the progress of Cape Farewell from 2002 to 2008 and discussing the fundamental role of culture in responding to climate change. Part of the 2007 Linacre lectures organised by Oxford University.

Siobhan Davies's work Endangered Species, created for the Cape Farewell exhibition Art & Climate Change, will be installed in the Oxford Playhouse foyer until 7 July 2007.


National Maritime Museum Lecture

Freeze Frame is a five week series of talks by explorers, artists, historians and scientists hosted by the National Maritime Museum in celebration of International Polar Year 2007.


Ian McEwan and John Schellnhuber - A Conversation About Climate Change

A Conversation About Climate Change - a discussion between novelist Ian McEwan and Professor John Schellnhuber, Germany's Chief Government Advisor on Climate - took place on 22 March 2007 at the Bucerius Law School, Hamburg. The event took place alongside the exhibition Art & Climate Change, and was staged as part of the British Council's Conversations series. Based on the broad scientific acceptance that global warming and its impacts are a reality, and in the wake of the findings of the Stern Report, the conversation explored dynamic new ideas around climate change and the action that should be taken by governments, companies and individuals.
